What counts as an event

Every pageview, screen view, click, form submission and custom event sent by your websites, apps and mini programs counts as one, and so does every event reported from your server.

What doesn't count, or is handled differently:

  • Visits matching an exclusion rule — dropped on the collector, not counted.
  • Bots — in the default "identify and count separately" mode, records written to the bot report pass the same quota check. If you set bot handling to "discard", requests identified as bots don't count.

How the quota is counted

  • Per calendar month in the project time zone, reset on the 1st.
  • Per account: events from all your projects add up together; each project doesn't get its own allowance.
  • Usage is visible live under Plans & usage in the console, with a reminder as you approach the limit.

When it runs out

  • Your website is not affected in any way; visitors notice nothing.
  • The collector keeps answering, but new events aren't stored for the rest of the month, so charts flatten from that day.
  • Data already stored is untouched.
  • Everything resumes on the 1st.

If one campaign month is unusually busy and you don't want to move up a whole plan, buy an add-on pack.

Add-on packs

On Pro and above you can buy event add-ons on the plan page: choose how many extra events per month, for this month only or every month until your plan ends.

  • This month is priced by the days left; each full month after that at the full price.
  • Add-ons stack on top of the plan quota and still apply after an upgrade.
  • Each month's add-on is valid for that month only; unused events don't roll over.

Beyond the top plan

When 10 million events a month on VIP 2 isn't enough, we set up an enterprise quota for your account with its own monthly allowance and term. The effective quota is whichever is larger, plan or enterprise, plus any add-ons. Get in touch through the Enterprise page.

Data after a downgrade or expiry

If a paid plan ends without renewal, the account returns to Free with a 30-day grace period. Nothing is deleted during those 30 days, and you get an in-app and email reminder on day 23. Renew the same plan or a higher one during the grace period and nothing is lost.

After 30 days, project retention is reduced to the Free limit and older detail is cleared. Summary trends on the overview are kept. If you plan to pause, export anything you need to keep during the grace period — see Export data and share reports.
