PathClue vs lightweight privacy analytics

Cookieless like lightweight analytics — with depth when you need it

Lightweight privacy analytics answers "how many, from where, reading what" on a single dashboard, with a tiny script and no cookies. Simplicity is its biggest strength. PathClue is just as light on the page, and adds apps, mini programs, user profiles, retention, replay and attribution in the same project — so you don’t have to switch tools when you need more.

  • Both cookieless
  • Apps and mini programs too
  • A free plan that lasts

Choose PathClue if you want

  • Website, app and mini-program data in one project
  • Funnels, retention, user profiles and session replay
  • Bots and AI crawlers reported separately
  • Ad click recognition, attribution and conversion sharing
  • A free plan that stays free, not just a trial

Choose lightweight privacy analytics if you need

  • The simplest possible one-page dashboard that anyone can read
  • Open source you can audit yourself
  • Website analytics only, by choice, and nothing more

Where PathClue differs

What this type of tool rarely gives you

01

More than the website

Add apps and mini programs to the same project; signed-in users merge into one profile.

  • iOS, Android, HarmonyOS
  • WeChat, Alipay, Douyin
  • One profile per person
02

Depth built in

Funnels, retention, paths, heatmaps and replay sit next to your traffic reports, ready when you need them.

  • Funnels and retention
  • Replay and heatmaps
  • Dynamic segments
ClueSign-up step 2 loses the most people — the replays show why
03

Bots and AI in plain view

Crawler traffic and AI assistants get their own reports instead of being dropped or filed as referrals.

  • Bot report
  • AI referrals
  • AI crawler ledger
Switching

Switching from lightweight analytics

Both are light enough to run together for a while.

  1. 1

    Add the PathClue snippet

Leave your current script in place — both can run on the page together.

  2. 2

    Rebuild goals and funnels

Only the ones you actually use, or install an industry template.

  3. 3

Compare for two to four weeks

PathClue usually shows fewer visitors, because bots are counted separately.

  4. 4

    Switch over

Remove the old code once the team is comfortable.

FAQ

Common questions

Anything else — open the chat in the corner and ask.

Is PathClue as light on my site?
The PathClue script is about 2 KB gzipped and loads with defer, so it never blocks rendering. Lightweight tools are often smaller still, but both are far smaller than typical marketing scripts.
Is PathClue open source?
No. Teams that need data on their own servers can choose a private deployment on the Enterprise plan.
Won’t more features make it harder to use?
The default home is a traffic dashboard much like a lightweight tool’s. Funnels, replay and the rest live in their own menus; ignore them until you need them.
