Tips

Keep campaigns comparable

Always lower-case

“Facebook” and “facebook” count as two sources in most tools. Lower-case everything.

Agree on a short list

Pick fixed values for source and medium and share them with everyone who creates links.

Merge what slips through

In PathClue, channel rules group different spellings into one channel after the fact.

FAQ

UTM questions

Anything else — open the chat in the corner and ask.

Do I need UTM tags for Google Ads and Meta?
Not with PathClue — ad clicks are recognised from click IDs such as gclid and fbclid. UTM tags still help compare campaigns and creatives.
Which parameters are required?
Source is the minimum. Medium and campaign are strongly recommended; term and content are optional.
Does adding UTM tags hurt SEO?
Use them on links you share elsewhere — ads, emails, posts — not on internal links between your own pages.
