Date annotations

Where: Configuration › Date annotations, or straight from the trend chart on website and app overviews.

Looking at a chart three months later, it's hard to remember which campaign caused the spike and which outage caused the dip. An annotation leaves a marker on the chart.

Adding one

On an overview trend chart, click Add annotation, drag across a range of dates, release, and fill in:

FieldNotes
DateStart date required. Leave the end date empty for a single day
TypeCampaign, release, ad change, incident, holiday, other. Each type has its own colour
TitleRequired, up to 40 characters
NoteOptional, up to 500 characters
ScopeAll, website, app, mini program. Shown only on matching charts

A single-day annotation is a dashed line; a range is a light band.

Automatic annotations

  • App versions — the first day each new app or mini-program version appears, a release annotation is created for you. If traffic or crashes change after a release, you see it at a glance.
  • Public holidays — Chinese public holidays (including swapped working days) appear on trend charts by default. They don't use up your annotations and can't be edited.

Bulk import

If your campaign calendar already lives in a spreadsheet, import it as CSV:

date_from,date_to,type,title,note,scope
2026-11-24,2026-12-01,campaign,Black Friday week,Homepage takeover + email,all
2026-11-20,,release,v2.3.0 released,,app

Up to 500 rows at a time. Rows with errors are listed one by one and the rest import normally. Importing doesn't de-duplicate — the same file twice gives you two copies.

A good habit

Annotate changes to analytics settings too — exclusion rules, session timeout, channel rules. Settings only affect later data, so the chart shows a step; with an annotation nobody mistakes it for a business change.

Scheduled reports

Where: the Report subscriptions block under Configuration › Settings › Notifications. Needs Pro or above.

What's sent

  • Daily — yesterday.
  • Weekly — Monday to Sunday of last week, sent every Monday.
  • Monthly — the previous calendar month, sent on the 1st.

Each report covers visitors, pageviews, sessions, bounce rate and average duration with period-over-period change; the traffic trend; the fastest-rising pages and sources; new sources; AI-referred visits; conversions for active goals; and a short written summary.

Where it goes

Reports share notification channels with monitors: email, WeCom, DingTalk, Feishu and webhooks. With no channel selected they go to every enabled channel. Pick the hour to send, in the project time zone.

Click Preview before saving to check the content. Delivery history is at the bottom of the page, marked sent, failed or skipped.

Reports vs monitors

A scheduled report is a routine update that goes out whatever the numbers say; a monitor is an alarm that only fires when something is wrong. Use both: the weekly report keeps everyone aware of the big picture, monitors make sure nothing unusual slips past.

Permissions

Annotations are visible to every member; Analysts and above can create, edit and import them. Report subscriptions are saved by an admin or the owner.
